Alkalizing compound based on sodium hydroxide, useful for unclogging drains from sinks, showers and stripping or softening old layers of paint without damaging materials such as ceramics or metals. Solid at room temperature, this substance is extremely hygroscopic (it absorbs a lot of water) and deliquescent (it absorbs the humidity present in the air).
